Cowley, swans and family

After yesterdays poor weather, and the excitement of the tree fall, today was a much more straightforward day's cruising.

Springwell Lock and London's Low Emissions Zone

We took a short trip to Tesco in Rickmansworth and then left around 10:00 AM. Our aim was to reach Cowley and meet up with our daughter Lucy and our three granddaughters.

Although the rain held off, it was cold and windy - and this is June 1st!

Another Albert moored at Uxbridge

Between Uxbridge and Cowley we were approached by some boaters who had discovered a poorly cygnet. They were looking for possible parents. We hadn't seen any swans but just as we departed a swan family arrived. Unfortunately, it turned out that the poorly cygnet didn't come from this family - it was to big. We left the boaters to approach a swan sanctuary.

A swan family
We managed to find a mooring just south of the lock at Cowley and the swan family followed us through the lock.

The rest of the afternoon was spent enjoying time with our family. It was a first time afloat for our youngest granddaughter Nancy.
