Stone

Short trip today down to Stone. We are planning to leave Albert at Aston Marina tomorrow and pop back home. We had a leisurely start, moving off at 10 o'clock.

Today was largely dry, we had only a few showers, but the wind was strong making locking tricky. We went through Meadford Locks and met two boats coming up.

I can't resist photographing Roger Fuller's Yard at Stone everytime we pass. It is always changing.

CRT volunteers were on hand to help us through some of Stone Locks. We moored up to take on water but unfortunately the chandlers at Stone Boatbuilders was closed, being Sunday, so we were unable to buy some bits and pieces and a gas bottle.

We moored up just above the bottom lock on the visitor moorings. Coming through Stone we have rarely been able to moor here because it has been too busy. Most of the local boaters must be on their home moorings. We went into Stone for a Sunday Lunch. The town was very quite but we did find a Wetherspoons serving.
